Marketing through the madness

Business as usual is not business as usual, but that doesn't mean marketing efforts should be put on hold. Here are three things that I wanted to share to help with sales & marketing activity during the _insert C word_ here as I've had enough of typing it and giving it airtime!

 

1. Online advertising - low cost opportunities

 

 

It's been reported that CPC (cost per click) is down as many small businesses have paused ad campaigns. This is actually a good opportunity to take a look at what leads you could be generating from a very low cost. The smaller business spend on ads increases the CPC so that the bigger companies spend more. In certain industries and for particular products there isn't a great deal of ad spend going on at the moment (unless of course you sell bog roll).

 

2. New social media channels (free)

 

If you have some downtime, explore new social media opportunities such as Instagram and WhatsApp Business along with sites such as Pinterest if you have something more visual to offer (crafts, cookery, design).  TikTok is of course massive with the younger generation and presents good opportunities for B2C marketing (but my excuse is that I’m not down with the kids enough to get on there as yet!)

 

3. Content is still king (free)

 

If you haven’t updated your website in a while (guilty) why not write a couple of blogs or useful content? Top tips and how to guides always work well and may prove a helpful read for your customers and prospects, along with supporting SEO for your website if you content is original and relevant to readers.
